[SOLVED] Bought DDR3L RAM instead of DDR3 unintentionally, what are the chances it might not work?

motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 rev. 5.0
cpu: fx 6300

However in theory it should work fine in most DDR3 boards, but you won't know for certain without trying it. More of a concern would be pairing it with RAM that run's at 1.5v, I didn't think you could mix different voltages but not sure, maybe someone else can comment on that.

Since you have it, you could try it.
The motherboard specs say 1.5v ddr3, with no mention of 1.35v ddr3L.

If you are thinking of combining with DDR3, it is not going to work, all ram must run at the same voltage.

To be certain, I would return it if I could.

DDR3L can run in 1.5V mode too. That's not an issue.

There's a note in the standard (provided by the Wikipedia citation) if you need further proof that DDR3L can operate with 1.5V. Or at least operate as a DDR3 module.
