Hi there, it's my first post here. I bought an EVGA Geforce GTX 750 Ti SC w/ACX Cooling (Dual-fan) from Best Buy a few days ago (for $83, using gift cards). It works great, and overclocks like a champ. But I have a few questions.
After looking online, I realized there was a different model, the FTW edition. I browsed EVGA's website, saw the single fan 750 Ti SC card, but for the life of me couldn't find my specific card - (Model Number: 02G-P4-3759-KB - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/evga-geforce-gtx-750-ti-2gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card/4906008.p?id=1219104862829&skuId=4906008). There is a dual-fan 750 Ti w/ACX on their website, but it's not superclocked. The only "superclocked" 750 Ti's are single-fan models (whose specs are identical to mine, I just have the extra fan/ACX.
I looked at the specs of my card on Best Buy's website (not as in-depth as I'd hoped, and compared them to the FTW specs found on EVGA's website (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-3757-KR). In short, my card has a 1176 base core clock/1255 boost clock. The FTW has a 1189 base/1268 boost. A difference of 13 Mhz.
I'm wondering what on earth is my card? It seems to be a hybrid of the 750 Ti SC and the FTW edition. It is essentially the same as the single-fan superclocked model in terms of specifications, but has the cooling system, and extra fan of the FTW. I can't find anything on it on the web other than a few videos. Most refer to the FTW or the single-fan edition. Is my card newer, since it has a later model number? Is it a Best Buy-exclusive model? Will a 13 Mhz difference make a huge impact on performance. Is the discrepancy negligible. I don't know. I know it's not a huge deal, but I like to know what exactly my components are.
Sorry for the lengthy post, I just got into PC gaming last year (initially got an AMD 7750 that just did not perform well), and decided to upgrade to the 750 Ti SC. I only have a 300 watt PSU in my system, which is why I opted for this card (I will upgrade later on, with more components, etc). But I'd just really like to know what some of the more well-versed people think of this situation.
On a lighter note, using EVGA PrecisionX for OC'ing, the card boosts to about 1371 GPU clock/1695 memory clock (+90/+685 respectively), giving me about a 12 FPS increase on Unigine benchmarks.
Thanks in advance for the help. I look forward to what y'all have to say.
