I recently bought a bunch of components from USA and now im back home (Ireland) about to put them together and my mother warned me that the voltage is different in the USA and it could fry all my components. She said i'd need a transformer. Can anyone confirm this?

Power

A word of warning - sockets all over Ireland will supply roughly 230 Volts, double that of the US supply! If you do not change the settings on your chargers or power supplies this will fry any US machine into oblivion.

the only part that deals with different voltages is the power supply. If you bought a good psu, it will handle both US and UK voltages. The only thing you will need is a UK power cable (with the correct prongs) that fit the wall socket.

The voltage of all the components inside your pc are handle by the psu and are the universally the same, no matter where you are.

Read the highlighted section , this PSU will auto adjust to your voltage in Ireland.
