I have been playing fortnite recently and could tell something was wrong with my fps, i knew it had to do with my computer. Checked the ram speed and i am at 1200mhz per stick so therefore together it is at 2400mhz 16gb. I have worked in the bios and done everything i could do but it just wont change to 3200mhz should i get some new ram? I am just lost at this point, really need some answers

  • Turn off the PC
  • Switch off the PSU.
  • Take the BIOS battery out for 30 seconds.
  • Take out the RAM and reseat
  • Reboot to BIOS
  • Turn on XMP and see what happens.
2nd gen RYZEN doesn't natively support 3600mhz speeds so you have to overclock manually to reach those or at least close to it. XMP will top out at 3466mhz for auto overclock but only if you updated the BIOS.

You may need a Bios update and no guarantee you will achieve 3600MHz from a 3200MHz kit.
3200MHz is beyond the JDEC standard so Bios would select a safe SPD (Serial Presence Detect) Initially. You will have to manually enter their SPD and voltage in Bios. RAM SPD can be got from CPUz in windows.

After doing this process, my ram speed is correct but now i am unable to use my microphone to talk to my friends and each time i go to the sound control panel it just freezes UGH
