Question bought new CPU but i have a mobo issue

the issue with my mobo is that everytime i plug my other crucial SSD (backup) in as the boot device i have to load optimised defaults, not a huge issue until i realised i need the F40 bios version for the ryzen 5 3600 i bought, so to me this means i cant install any CPU cos i cant boot into windows without resetting the BIOS

I think you are confusing BIOS and CMOS.

no im not i updated my bios to F40 and its now reset again due to loading optimised defaults for using my other hard drive

just tried the SSD and the exact message i get is reboot and select proper boot device, it wont boot unless i load optimised efaults i dnt know how to fix

what happens if i update the bios then put th e cpu in it, but th en have to load optimised defaults would it mess the CPU up?. i think when i upgrade the CPU il just buy a more modern motherboard so it just works out the box cos this issue im having is annoying
