So I bought a new processor, the E7400 Core2Duo, installed it on my computer, but it doesn't boot. Put back the old cpu and it does start normally. I have the following motherboard: P4M900-M7 FE, do you guys have any idea why isn't it working?
Another interesting thing is that I've put the cpu in my other motherboard which is a P4M900-M3( the cpu is not compatible) and it started normally...Pretty strange.
i use the utilities. less hassle and they work fine. don't forget to save the old BIOS when asked. disks work great for this.......... or burn it to a disk or thumb drive after back up so you have it.
Ok so the CPU is now working. I played a few games and it was all going well until I tried Battlefield 3, and my pc freezed after 20 minutes. What can cause that?
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7400
GPU: MSI GT 630 2GB DDR3
RAM: 2GB
PSU: 450W, at +12V it has 18A
Motherboard: P4M900M7 FE
HDD: 150GB
heat?......... when you removed the heatsink and installed the new processor.......... did you clean up the old paste and reapply new?.............. is the heatsink properly installed. even being slightly cocked or not having one of the pins securely attached will cause problems.
