Question Bought new ram - wrong speed withn XMP option profile 1

So here are my specs :motherboard - Gigabyte B360HD3 rev .1 https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B360-HD3-rev-10#kfCPU : i7 8700k 3.70ghz (not overclocked because of the motherboard) https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...8700k-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz.htmlAnd my Ram : Kingstone HyperX 2x8GB DDR4 2666mhz CL16 https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX426C16FB2K2_16.pdfI turned on XMP option to profile 1 but it shows me that my ram runs at 2130mhz and not 2666mhz as listed.....Is something wrong ?

No I wont look in the datasheet, its your computer and your needs of information, you need to make yourself sure about your setup and working conditions

I don't understand what you mean by that .....the CPU supports DDR4 2666 memory types as stated by the official Intel page

Yes it does support that clock speed on the memory, but at which CPU clock speed ?
The CPU speed is closely related to the ram clock speed, so if you dont run the max CPU clock, where it supports the max ram clock speed, then what ... ?

sigh I run my cpu at 3.70 - 4.70ghz . i use turbo boost technology and not overclocking . Thats what you mean ?

My friend uses a very similair CPU - https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-8700-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-60-ghz.html
and the same ram as me but he got 2666mhz as needed. His so called " FSB DRAM" ration of 1:20 and i have 1:16 .....maybe the problem is in that setting ?

At least I got through the line to you now as we are talking FSB clock (couldnt remember the term, sorry).

so....how do I change it ?....there is no reason for my ram to not operate at 2666mhz...doesn't matter if I disable or enable XMP it doesnt change anything

That would be a typical BIOS setting under front side bus, cpu or ram settings.

You won't find it, memory speeds have been decoupled from FSB speeds since the days of C2D/Q for intel.

Can you show us the memory and main tab of CPU-Z.

So your 3rd image tells you that the RAM can do 2666 (1333), the 2nd tells you that it's not. Are there other XMP options? how does the tab on the 2nd image look when switched off?

that's not a setting, just the answer to the question of the ratio between the two numbers.
Is it fitted as per page 9 on the manual?
try the memory odd ratio settings as per page 26 of the manual.
