Today i bought a ssd for my pc because my hdd is kinda slow. So I want to put my windows on the ssd for a faster boot. Can in simply unplug the hdd, put in the ssd, install windows on the ssd and then plug the hdd back and configure the bios so that it boots from the ssd?

Exactly!

If you want to be super-careful, you can install windows and then install any updates required before you plug the storage HDD back in.

You'll probably want to format the hard drive, just because it'll give better performance, but only do that after you've saved any data you want.

Yes, but...

All your applications will have to be reinstalled as well.
