I have an ASUS UX501VW notebook and it has by default 8gb soldered and 8gb in a slot.
I bought a 32GB stick (DDR4-2666-1.2V) and tried booting with it in the slot and it only detected 8GB.
I figured ok incompatible....
Put the original 8GB stick back in.. detects 8GB.
Slot & stick are clean & blown out.
Did the new RAM, possibly at some incorrect voltage/speed, shart out my RAM slot?

Yeah ok but what about the RAM that I didn't just buy and had been working fine and showing 8+8 properly in BIOS and Win forever?
I am currently only showing 8 total, with the pre-existing +8 not being detected anymore..
