[SOLVED] Bought The Wrong RAM, What To Do?

When I initially bought my PC around early June I got a 16GB kit of Trident Z Royal 3600Mhz. About a month later I ordered another 16GB from the same shop, however by mistake I ordered a 3200MHz kit. They said they currently only have a 3200Mhz kit in stock so I was wondering if I should replace my 3600Mhz kit? Or keep the 3600Mhz and hope they restock a 3600Mhz kit later?

Ryzen 3800X
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi
Zotac RTX 2080 Super AMP EXTREME
Trident Z Royal 32GB - 16GB 3600Mhz and 16GB 3200Mhz
Corsair RM 750x
HP EX900 1TB SSD

if 3600MHz is running well with your hardware, get the same kit with 3600MHz

The 3200MHz kit will decrease the performance of your system, but should still run fine

Your two kits will run at 3200MHz then, you can try to overclock the 3200MHz kit to 3600MHz, but it´s not guaranteed that this will work and is stable as well.

Very little but the memory might not even work together the same if you bought another 3600 set just like you have.

Their no guarantee memory that was not sold in a matched set will work when you add more.

So wait, even if I get the same Trident Z Royal 3600Mhz RAM it might not work with my current RAM? I've never heard of that happening

Any time you add memory their a chance it will not play nice with the other memory.

Ryzens do like faster memory, especially 3600 MHz for 3rd gens, but to put this short the difference in performance will only be noticeable when benchmarking by about a few digits. 3200 is not slow.

Nobody can answer that. It might work, might not work, might be able to make it work with some settings adjustment.
