bought this rj45 device for my wireless adapter

i need to extend my wireless adapter from my room to my sister room "25ft" almost to get the wifi signal
so i bought this item

and i bought a cat 5 to test it
and the singal was super weak and it barely picked up 1 wifi "usally its around 9"
so i wonder if cat 5 is the bottleneck or the this extender it just so bad

yes the cat 5 was the bottleneck like i tought
i used a 30ft cat 6 cable and its working perfectly
