Question Bought used Threadripper. Does it look new/damaged? Discoloration on back *Photos

Purchased this thread ripper advertised as new. Pretty sure its been used based on the way the flat side looks. What do you think about the slight discoloration on the back? Would that indicate any damage to the chip or its performance?

if it worked fine, then it should work. i had some cpus with that kind of discoloration and it still works perfectly like new.

I do not see any clear evidence that the part is used...and would not overly worry about barely perceptible shade differences in coloring

If you have any sort of warranty/return policy, the larger issue would be determining if it actually works within a fairly short timeframe to make sure you not left holding a paperweight in the event the CPU was not fine.

Was it boxed?

looks fine to me... could just be a manufacturing thing or it might of just seen the sun on that side if it was boxed and you couldn't see anything that might show it had been opened. if you think somthings wrong ask who you bought it from about it.
hopefully they will be happy to help
if you think something's going on you might want to return it
