I went from a 950 to a 980ti. I never had issues with artifacts using the 950. The 980ti is amazing as far as fps but all games I play cause artifacts similar to this screenshot. The visual disturbances only appear in games. Some games can't even launch without crashing. These games tend to cause errors in event viewer such as:

The AODDriver4.1 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

and

The description for Event ID 1 from source NVIDIA OpenGL Driver cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted

and

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I tried using older drivers and they made no difference.

Any thought??http://

Overheating GPU processor or memory will cause that. If you haven't overclocked it and you have decent cooling in your system (and you checked and the temps aren't bad) then the GPU is defective. Return it.

It never passes 77C, and the artifacts begin as soon as the game launches and the temp is still very low. That was what I thought, thanks for the confirmation

Yeah, its definitely defective, time for a new one
