Brand new bluray burner making ticking noise when it writes

was wondering if this is normal for a brand new player making ticking noises when it is burning a dvd or bluray. what do you think? does blurays spose to make that noise? should i return it for a different one?

During writing (burning) all DVD as well as Blu Ray do make some sounds.

Compare the sound that you are hearing with the sound of other DVDs and Blu Rays. Some sound is normal.

It would be nice to upload a sound track that can better define this sound.

If it is a consistent regular sound, it is a problem - if it is random it may be due to the write (burn).
