Question Brand New Build severely underperforming with Windows 10

Motherboard: TUF Gaming X570-PLUS
Graphics Card: VisionTek Radeon 7750 2GB GDDR5

(bought for multi monitor support in 4k, not gaming)


So I've had problems with windows from the start, for the initial install on the motherboard, had to turn off the wifi because it was corrupting the install. Once that was finally done, the system was lagging with basic activities such as browsing the web. Loading youtube had a delay and things would even jam. I ran a system test on userbenchmark.com and these were the results--

I am operating at 16% and have no idea what could possibly be running the background as I have not installed anything besides the drivers for my components. Please advise =]

CPU temp's are fine, normally in the 50C range and there is a corsair a500 fan along with 2 box fans keeping things cool.

On the box of TUF Gaming X-570 PLUS, it specifically says it is compatible with the Ryzen 9 3000 series and no bios update is needed. The AMD chip box also says this.

It's a new build and fresh Windows 10 home install.

Turn on xmp/docp memory profile in bios - does it have another name I should look for? I didnt see xmp/docp in it.

it says that you have 64 Gb RAM (2 x 32 GB), but the sticks reference corresponds to a 2 x 16 gb kit (total 32 GB).
It also says that it is working at 2666 MHz. But you don not seem to have activated XMP / DOCP, and the JEDEC speed of this kit is 2133 MHZ.
Something is not correct with your RAM

Yes, there is something wrong with it but they are in the correct slots and no drivers cannot be downloaded for it (other than to change color)-

And the issues that stick out are the high background CPU (60%) - even though only Microsoft edge is open and the very low latency on the memory - 38% 107 ns. Now the SSD also seems to be performing very poorly.

This one does have included wifi, and I turned it off on the bios screen to install windows. Otherwise it wouldn't let me install windows.

What cpu cooler are you using? Besides the high background cpu usage the cpu is also throttling(look at the cpu's turbo speed in the benchmark).

Also what are you using to monitor cpu temp? You should be using Ryzen master to get an accurate temp reading.

The low SSD performance is likely a result of the CPU underperforming, not the SSD itself. And while the RAM is reverting to a somewhat lower speed, the low CPU boost clocks is likely making the most difference to performance.

Have you verified the CPU's temperatures while the system is under load? What software did you use? It's showing your boost clocks being below your base clocks, and a typical cause of that would be thermal throttling due to the CPU overheating. If that were the case, it might be a result of having your CPU cooler not mounted quite right.

I am using the corsair a500. I installed it pretty carefully, not screwing on one side too tight, and it's firmly in place. Maybe it's screwed down too tight , pushing on the chip?

None of them have gone up too high or anywhere near max load.

Interesting, I will now look over that again. All the programs Ive used to measure temperatures have been pretty stable, in the 50C range and up to 60C maybe, sporadically. Could the CPU fan which is a corsair a500 could be installed too tight, pushing on the AMD Ryzen chip? The mount and the brackets are fine and according to instructions.

Thank you for this - I had the previous version of 1407 and updated it to 2603. The installation went well.

However, the lag persists even for simple tasks, none of the free diagnostic tools I've downloaded have found anything.

Well, if all your temperatures are good as you seem to imply by measurements from several softwares, it looks more and more as faulty CPU or faulty CPU socket

I think I figured it out... but can't say for sure until I put in new card.

I ran a diagnostics test at Microcenter and everything was fine. Also, on a smaller (23" 1080p monitor), there was no lag.

Therefore, the conclusion was that the screen I was using it on (32" 4k, intend on having 3 4k monitors) was causing the GPU to bottleneck the CPU and not perform adequately. The card was likely meant for CCTV purposes because of how underpowered it is and low on memory.

So I'm going to put in a nicer card and see what happens. Previously, I liked the AMD Radeon Pro WX 5100 - https://www.amd.com/en/products/professional-graphics/radeon-pro-wx-5100

But I am trying to find an NVDA one capable of 3 4k monitors. Hard to find as on the spec sheet for maximum resolution, they always go to 7680x4320 despite suggesting 4 monitor support and 3 dp with 1 hdmi output. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2080-super/

Is that just for one screen, though? Does that mean it should be able to handle 3 3840x2160 monitors at 60Hz?
