I just put together a new computer and everything seemed to be working fine but after about a week of using it it started shutting down randomly on its own. These shutdowns happen anywhere from as soon as I start the system up to three hours after

It's a mini ITX system so I thought thermals might be the problem but ramping the fans doesn't do anything to solve the problem

I sunk a lot of money into this project and I really hate to see it be for nothing

If the link doesn't work I'll try to get one that does but that's a list of the components I used to make the PC

Solution
While I agree its probably the power supply, I'm thinking the PSU failed (or is failing). Those Mini GTX 1080s only pull in about 195w, 450 should be enough for that system. The 600 will give you more headroom, including thermal headroom in the PSU.

Once you get it in there you should check your temps and airflow in the case. I have a feeling heat damaged the PSU and caused this failure. So to check airflow you can use a match and blow it out then hold it next to a case intake and see if the smoke comes out your exhaust or gets trapped inside. You can also open the side of the case slightly to watch the flow of where it goes. A true smoke machine is best but I'm not gonna tell you to go out and buy one for this.

It keeps shutting down now before I can get much done but something to note is that once it's booted into windows making input to the computer using the mouse or the keyboard will cause seemingly random beeping noises and stutters

Well the computer keeps shutting down randomly so I can't take screenshots and post them and as for the spec sheet I don't know how to make it stop saying that it's private I've tried before and I couldn't get it to work properly so I'll just say it here

I'm using an
AMD ryzen 2600 X
A zodiac GTX 1080 Mini
Two sticks of 8 GB Corsair vengeance lpx Ram
My motherboard is the gigabyte gaming Wi-Fi ab350
My power supply is a 450 watt sfx from Corsair
The storage I'm using is an m. 2 slot Samsung 960 Evo and a 1tb two and a half inch SSD from crucial
And yes I applied thermal paste the cooler I'm using is the small form factor one from noctua for the am-4 socket

all of the power calculates i used said there would be around 100 watts of clearance
could this really be the problem and could i just under clock my gpu for now until i get a new psu

Power could be but thats sounds weird. Normally if there isnt enough power, the GPU wouldn't even show a display. I never have seen it show a display for X amount of time then shut down unless something was overheating.

I'd still check your attempts when you can. You can do as They said and remove the 1080 and find another cheap GPU to boot into. I don't think that mobo has on board GPU.

its getting too difficult to stay in widows for me to use hwmoniter but when i was using it things seemed normal

Let the PC set for abit. If it is a cooling issue it should turn back on and run for a few minutes after you let it cool down. At which point you can try using HWMonitor.

However, if it is a heating issue, continued use of it could cause further problems. This is why I suggested you open the case, turn it on and check for any fans not working properly etc...

the 1080 only says it requires 180 watts and the part of the case that the gpu is in has no air flow with the cpu section by design

Well i stand corrected, but to be fair i dont follow amd, never built or used a computer with amd cpus.

You could try booting into safe mode as it wont use the GPU to its full potential.

If it were my system, I would pull the whole thing apart, reassemble it, and reset the bios. Make sure all the cables fit tightly and are connected properly, your standoffs are nice and tight (I'm assuming with that small of a case there are no extras that could be grounding out on the bottom of the motherboard). If your PSU is modular (I think it is), then check all the cables there too.

That PSU got really good reviews, with a full 450w going to the 12v rail...but at stock clocks you are probably near 400w total system consumption under full load...

gst just came in so i have some money to play with so i think ill buy this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/CQ648d/corsair-power-supply-cp9020105na and see how that works

i was useing the computer today for about 3 eps of jojo's bizarre adventure before it shut down and wouldn't boot again.

it definitely makes a loud click sound when it fails so i think this coarse of action might be correct

other recommendations for psu's would be nice
i'll keep trying things until then though
