Hey guys! I just forked out $85 for a Crucial BX100 250GB SSD, and I'm having some issues. The reviews on Newegg were almost all positive, and it had a 5-egg [star] rating so I supposed it would be a great first SSD. I mostly got this drive because I got tired of having to wait up to 5 minutes for my HDD to boot up, and I heard SSDs are much faster. So here's the problem I'm having: I installed Windows 7 Home Premium onto the drive, booted it up, installed all of my motherboard drivers and GPU drivers onto it, and then started installing frequently-used programs onto it like Firefox, Steam, etc. The programs I installed took up 20GB before every window I had open started crashing. My motherboard doesn't support SATA III, but it does support SATA II and I made sure that they were backwards compatible before I even considered buying this new SSD. I've Googled solutions but nothing fits my exact scenario. I'm at my wits end and I don't want to have to send my new SSD back or have to upgrade to a better motherboard just so I can use it. Any possible solutions would be MUCH appreciated. I've done all I can think to do and nothing's helping.
