Hi,

My specs:

Aorus Z390 Master MoBo
RTX 2080
Intel i7 9700K

Today my new CPU (i7 9700k) came in. This morning I had a i5 9600K, but a friend of mine wanted a new CPU, so I sold it and got a i7 myself.

I installed the new CPU and Windows won't boot anymore.... On the black screen with logo (in my case the torus logo) with the spinning " windows" circle, it just stops spinning, it freezes, and nothing i can do anymore.... I walked through the Mobo troubleshoot, etc, but nothing seems to work.

I thougt: i just reinstall windows, but when loading the install screen, the same thing happens.. It just freezes...

Then I cleared CMOS, still same problem.

I re-installed the old i5, and the PC just boots normal again.......

So I just installed the new i7 again, but same problem....

No pins seem to be other, it just looks normaal.

Anyone has a idea what this could be?

Thanks in advance!!

Solution
Good. If you notice on the list there are two listings for that CPU and the only difference is the "stepping".

P0 takes BIOS F4 and R0 takes F8.

Think of stepping as a "version".

R0 is a newer version of that CPU than P0.
