Question Brand new laptop downloading very slowly

Hi there. I just got a brand new Medion laptop with Windows 11 and despite everything being up to date, the laptop will only download at around 3.4mbps. My console downloads at 30mbps so I'm not sure why there's such a disparity. I've tried searching the internet but it just says update the drivers but as far as windows is concerned, everything is up to date.

These are its specs:

Are you connecting to a 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wireless network? Also, if you attach via a wired connection, what speeds do you get?

Hi. Thank you so much for your reply. I'm connecting to a 5Ghz network. When I plug the laptop into the router the download speed stayed the same at around 3.4mbps

Seems like a software issue. What anti-virus/anti-malware product(s) are you using?

Does this system have any Medion installed applications, particularly anything associated with network management? Are you using a VPN service?

Thank you. I can't find any Medion related applications on the laptop, so I don't think so. I am not using a VPN.

What other devices do you have attached to your network? Are any of them experiencing similar speeds?

I have a Booster so upstairs has better connection. I've had it for years and had no problems. Download speeds on everything else, such as other laptop, MacBook, and console are around 30mbps

What are you using to measure performance? Take a picture, or screen capture, and then upload to a site like imgur.com.

Thank you for all your help. When testing my download speed via Speedtest by Ookla it shows a 20.27mbps download speed. But when downloading via any game launcher it's always below 4mbps.

Measuring from a game launcher/server is a completely different thing. There may be factors (on the other end) that you have no control over and has nothing to do with your actual throughput (as measured by speedtest, for example).

I suspect you are fine.

Server load, client throttling, etc are things that impact performance on the far side. Have fun!
