Hey guys,

I just bought an Acer S201HLbd 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Looks great and all, however, randomly and multiple times throughout the day, the screen blacks out for about 2-3 seconds and then comes back on.

I have no clue what this would be from, so any ideas?

I've checked the wires, they're attached right.
I've checked the Event Log, no signs there.
I have not noticed any actions that may cause it (totally random I believe)
I have tried reinstalling the Acer eDisplay Management

No luck so far...

Running Windows 7

Anything is appreciated, thanks guys.

Power Plan is fine, as is screen saver. Set up for DVI fine. Still producing the same problem.. I can try contacting Staples on returning it for a new one, not sure if I could or not, but I'd like to solve it before having to do all that if needed.

EDIT: I tried the D-Sub connection and it worked fine.. Gonna call Staples tomorrow and see what the details are on getting a new one as I'd guess this ones DVI-in is defective. Thanks for the help

Either the dvi cord or possibly the input on your monitor or output at pc end..

I tested the DVI cord, that works fine.
I decided it must be the Monitor, because the DVI out worked on another monitor.

I traded it in today, brought the new one back, and it's doing the same thing.

Driver bug maybe? I'll just stick with VGA apparently..

Now a new problem. After a minute into connecting it, a dark spot appeared on the screen. Minute later it went away. I'll have to wait and see if it keeps happening. So sick of taking care of this thing so far.

Forgot to update this;

I still don't quite understand this situation, but I will say, my monitor works great now on either connection. How? I now have a graphics card thrown in. Why it works on that and not the onboard when the onboard worked with the other monitor I have no clue.. But, fixed nonetheless..
