Hi all,

I have a brand new PC, newest gen i5, 8 GB DDR3 memory, GeForce GT 620 with 2GB RAM, but I can't get ANY game to run smooth on this machine! I tried a dozen different games but none of them run smooth unless I set the video options to the absolute lowest possible.

My other PC with a Quad Core and 700MB graphics card is able to run games better than this machine. I can't figure out what the problem is.

(I downloaded CPU-Z and it says, while running a game, it only uses 360 MB memory.)

Also, this machine runs on Windows 8.1

Okay I get that, but still... You'd expect a gfx card with 2 GB RAM to run at least better than my 4 year old Sony Vaio notebook and my macbook?

they do that just to fool people... there are some low end cards that have 4GB of slow DDR3 ram on them, looks better on the ad but still utter rubbish...

What kind of power supply you got in there? You might need to change it to a more powerfull one as well when you upgrade the card. Pre-built boxes tend to have very thightly selected psus so there likely isn't much unused wattage left for component upgrades...
