Brand new PSU not staying on.

It worked for 2 days, go to turn it on today, different story. Turned on for like 5 seconds, then flashed off. Only way to get it to turn on is to unplug it for a good 15-20 seconds, plug back in, and it turns on for 5 seconds, repeat. My old PSU is only 500W, and is working right now with no problems.

Specs:
Intel DX580G Mobo
i7 920 with this cooler
9 GB Ram
Radeon 5770
Just a DVD R/W drive
500 GB HDD(I believe Toshiba, too lazy to check)
It has 2 12" UV lights, and 1 15". The logisys brand.
5.25" Drive Bay cooler
Also one 120MM side case fan, and a 80MM rear case. Both have 4 LEDs.

I believe since the 500W is running fine right now with no problems, and everything plugged in, that its not because its drawing too much power. I tried putting it back in after testing this 500W, and it turned on for like 30 seconds this time, but started the same problems right after.

Any ideas? Already started a RMA with Newegg, but waiting 11-13 days for a replacement, or almost 10 for a refund is not too appealing. Hoping I'm doing something stupid.

That Apevia power supply is a bad joke. The OEM is Young Year, they make generic trash power supplies.

Ever wonder why it only has a one year warranty when the industry standard warranty period is three years?

Yeah, that PSU hurts my eyes just to look at it. Got it to run for nearly 30seconds? Sounds like something messed up in there. As Ko said its a sorry excuse for a PSU, return and buy a real one. A real 450-500W PSU will be fine running your computer.

I bought it because it had a decent review rate(4 eggs on 380+ reviews), and love the UV reactive sleeves on the wires. But sounds like the route I was taking is the right way to go. I'll be sending it back for a refund, and buying a better PSU, and the mesh sleeve kit to do it myself. Should've done that from the get go, but got a little lazy.

What I have listed there, again. I'm ordering a Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD with whatever PSU I do order.

A NeoEco 520w will run that easily, there's a good deal on the 620 though
