That's probably the CPU cooler. I would download https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download and look at your idle temps.. Verify what it says with https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html. What's the most processor hungry task you do? Go ahead with that so you can see the CPU's load temp..

Thanks! Looks like I'm between 74 and 80 degrees. I'm not doing anything super processor heavy at all (just basic web surfing, email, etc). Is there anything I can do to fix this?
 




1. open it up and see if there is dust there. If so use a compressor to blow the dust away
2. Due to the age I wouldn't be to suprised that if 1 doesn't fix it that the thermal paste has gone bad and needs reapplying.
