Brand New Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, VERY Low Random Read/Write (IOPS)?

Just installed and migrated my OS from my 840 120 to my new 850 EVO 250 GB.. My sequentials are through the roof thanks to RAPID mode, but my IOPS are around a third of what they should be. I had the same problem with my 840. Any idea?

Is it plugged into a SATA II or SATA III port?
My 840 EVO plugged into a SATA II port gets almost that exact same Random Read/Write performance.
The other 840 EVO in a SATA III port is significantly faster.

Sorry, I wanted to say AS SSD Benchmark. In ATTO Benchmark the values by default but check with AS SSD benchmark, it's easier.

Even though all of your SATA ports are SATA 3 (6Gb/s), connect the drive to another SATA port and see if that improves your benchmark scores.

Connect the drive to port SATA6G_1 if it is not there already.
See page 1-6 of your motherboard manual for the location of the port.

Disable the RAPID Mode, it's only marketing. The rapid mode charge temp files in the ram to improve the result in benchmarks.

That's why I think that there is an error in the config or features of the SSD. 3000Mb/s in SATA 3 ssd? I want it too.

That's why I think that there is an error in the config or features of the SSD. 3000Mb/s in SATA 3 ssd? I want it too.

Well, I just disabled RAPID mode.. and its not any better.

Well, the values of Sequential Write and Read are normal. Do you have 25Gb of your ssd free or "over provisioning" active?

Check the disk with CrystalDisk Info, if the disk is healthy I dont know what's the problem, sorry 🙁

Well, I think thanks to your link I have figured it out... when RAPID is active I am getting nearly identical benchmarks to benchmarkreviews.com

Conclusion: Samsung Magician seems to be VERY temperamental and not trustworthy... as it seems to be with "out of the box" manufacturer benchmarks. I hoped that it would be reliable to test my Samsung SSDs, but it seems that the Open Source Community has won again!

I hate to bump this but I have the exact same problem. Except when I stick this drive into my friends computer who is running Intel, he gets much faster speed all the way around. Even though I have the faster computer. I think its error with AMD cpu's or something

you can compare your results to the results from everyone else and see if your drive is working normally.

I also have the same SSD (850 Evo 250gb) and I encountered both low IOPS scores and high (97000/88000) IOPS scores on my system

low IOPS score happens when App Center (set of utilities from Gigabyte motherboard "Easy Tune" and "SIV") is running in the background.

Luckily out of an unfortunate event after I update the MB BIOS it make the App Center out of date and unable to run.

That is when the high IOPS scores happens.

So, the 850 Evo really does the 97000/88000 IOPS without RAPID it was just being used, while with RAPID enabled it goes unreasonably high scores...

Try uninstalling your MB utilities and run the benchmark, will provide images later,
