Hopefully someone can help, I just finished a new build last week. Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming GT, i7-6700k, 32GB Corsair LPX 3000mhz, Corsair H110i GTX, Corsair HX1000i PSU, Intel 750 400GB NVME on the M.2 holding Win10Pro, three 500 GB Samsung 850 Evo's for storage, and two GTX 980 ti's. Sounds fun right?! Well, everything works, except I can't get any of the chipset based SATA ports to work. There are 8 total ports, two of which run on a ASMedia 106x SATA Controller. The ASMedia SATA ports DO work, but the other 6 do not recognize any drive I connect to them. I've tried different cables and drives, I've installed, uninstalled and over again chipset drivers, IRST, BIOS versions, random Intel SATA controller drivers, nothing. The mobo manual says that if I attach an M.2 that I will lose 4 PCIE lanes off of the third graphics slot, but it doesn't mention anything about SATA ports being turned off. Though even if it did I would imagine that I would lose a couple of ports, not six of them. Any help is appreciated, I haven't been able to find anything online about this. The last board I got (same model) was DOA and I had to RMA it, so I'm really hoping I don't have to do that twice in a row. Thanks in advance...

Solution
Try resetting the BIOS by taking the MB battery out and completely unplugg the PSU and etc for 10 to 15 mins. See if this makes a difference. You will have to boot into BIOS and set optimized defaults and enable profile1 for the memory.
