There u have it, from Dig:

This is HUGE. From the article: "Whether you are using a Radeon X300 purchased a few years ago or the Radeon X1950PRO, the 8.41 driver is noticeably faster. How much faster? In many cases it is about 50% faster while in some configurations it may go as high as 90% or more. In fact, in some benchmarks the Mobility Radeon X300 was over 10x faster!"

This driver is for Linux. Thus, there won't be any performance gain for Windows users (the vast majority). You should change your header or at least the text to reflect this.

Kind of a let down, but I will use it when I reinstall Kubuntu and Beryl. ATIs Linux driver support has been poor at best, so it's nice to see.

Which would seem strange if it weren't for the reality that intel is better supported and more forthcoming than either nV or AMD/ATi. This may bring ATi up to nV's level, neither of which provide open access though.

Still a minor bit of the crowd, as minimally important and 'Apple Gamers'.

Couldn't care less anymore, linux is too big a hassle for non-enterprise use, but this may stop some of the whinning from the Linux fans around here.
