Hello, I updated the routers firmware from the DD WRT pro to a more recent version released in January 2014

Needless to say that it failed. I can't access the routers GUI interface, I also can't ping the router at 192.168.11.1 or see it in the arp table.

The only lights at the front are power LED and diag LED is solid.

I have tried adding a static arp entry into windows and tried pushing the stock firmware ( from DVD install disk ) using PumKin TFTP software but I can't seem to get this to work.

Can somebody help me?
Thank you

OpenWRT default address is 192.168.1.1, so you might want to set your PC to 192.168.1.2, and try again.

The version you tried to upgrade with - was it specifically made for your $200 router?
Go to OpenWRT site, and start reading unbricking methods. You might have to open your router, poke inside it, solder a couple of wires - it all depends how much damage was made.

Thank you for the reply. I did download the firmware version that matched my routers model and hardware. (WZR-HP-G450) with Atheros based hardware

I also have read the un-bricking guide and it suggested that when the router is in diag mode the IP address resets to 192.168.11.1

I have tried setting my PC IP to 192.168.1.10 but still can't access the router on this address or the default one.

I read that it is possible to push a stock firmware using a TFTP program. This has to be done during a 4 second window at the router being powered on. Does this have any truth?

Also if I have to open up the router to attempt a fix, could you please guide me through that process?

I have never un-bricked Belkin routers, and never opened one, so I cannot tell you how to proceed with "hardware" un-bricking on your unit (serial and/or JTAG). I was able to fix mine with TFTP.

The OpenWRT page for your router shows how to access the serial console. You will need a steady hand, soldering iron, and TTL-to-RS232/USB converter like this one.
