My usb power bridge on 2tb hdd is not picking the hard drive. I checked it separately the bridge led is on when connect to power but when connect with hard drive the light goes away and no sound nothing on hdd. Please suggest
What kind of usb bridge are you using?
Does it provide sufficient power a.k.a is it designed to power an external HDD?
Basically its external hdd it has its own usb bridge. Hdd is seagate expansion 2tb. I managed to separate the bridge and hard drive just to make sure whats the prob. So when i connect the hard disk with bridge it becomes silent and when i only connect the usb bridge the led light turns.
Hard drive +usb bridge = no sound no led light no connectitivty
I'm having a problem understanding your setup.
From what I read you have: 1 HDD, 1 external HDD and 1 usb bridge. Is this correct?
Is it possible to add a link/picture to the bridge you mentioned?

Please have a look this link mentioning the bridge and please ignore the article.
I have one external hard drive which stopped working. It was working fine a month ago its 3 years old drive. I opened the case took the hard drive out of the case separate the hard drive and bridge. Tried only the bridge to check if it receives any power.
So the bridge works fine as led lights turns on. As soon as i connect the same hard drive with this bridge(which is already on with blue light) the bridge led light turns off and there is no visual or sound coming from the hard drive.i assume either the hdd is dead or power bridge doesnt contain the sufficient power to transfer to hdd. Thanks for prompt reply
I would try the HDD disconnected from the bridge with SATA power + data cables and see what it does.
Otherwise, like mentioned in the linked article, it's the bridge at fault - though it seems it only happens when "under load".
In this case, you may be able to find such a replacement (altough of questionable quality).
This seems to have good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-SATA-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84
Ok so i got the SATA cable and adaptor as soon as i put the power on after setting the all cables SMOKE is coming from the board or somewhere around that area. It almost burned the hard drive i had to turn off the power i have no idea whats going on please suggest
