So basically I have a bridged cisco modem/router that provides wifi to the main house. In the main house, there is a "open house" ethernet network panel that takes the ethernet connection and splits it to either floorboard ethernet ports, or in our case today, the 2nd building. At this second building we have a router connected with a different ssid and is completely different network. Now, the router at the 2nd building is turned on and has the ability to be connected to, but it displays and loads no data. I do not want to "un-bridge" the modem/router and use my 3rd party normal router because I experience terrible up and down speeds compared to the bridged modem/router provided by our internet service provider. PLEASE HELP!

The house network is to be completely separate from the 2nd building network and both networks will have wireless devices - correct?

Both networks (e.g., SSID#1 and SSID#2) to have internet access.

A simple end to end diagram would be helpful along with the internal IP addresses being used on the devices being connected.

You mentioned Cisco but make and model information for all devices is relevant also.

The diagram will help clarify any terminology variations that can occur. Thanks.

Your exact question is not clear to me, so see if this summary helps. You have a combo modem/router/wifi that provides wifi access and wired ethernet in you home. You also have a router in the second building that you want to use for wifi.

The questions now is how do you get internet access to the #2 router and is the #2 set up properly as an access point? What is the goal for the #2 router? What do you mean by an " 'open house' ethernet network panel?" Is this an ethernet switch? If you are unsure, post a photo on imgur and give us a link.

If my initial impression of your situation is correct, perhaps answers to these question will allow us to give more specific answers.

The pages linked below provide general guidance on how to convert a router to an access point.
