Hi,

I have successfully bridged a 4g phone into a TP Link router.

However, when I try to bridge a different 4g phone internet is not available. The TP Link connects to the phone's hotspot but internet doesn't become available to the network.

So far, one phone is successful, 3 (newer and older) phones fail as described.

I have continually reset the router, reset the wifi profile, and consistently the same success and failure occurs.

Can anyone who is familiar with WDS bridging on TP Link to 4g help?

Successful phone -Samsung Galaxy s7
Unsuccessful phones, Oppo Reno Z, Oppo A57, Iphone 5

Although I can't say for sure on those devices many mobile broadband hotspot do not have support for WDS. This is a hack anyway that was never officially added to the wifi standards. Many hotspot try to limit the number of connected devices, not sure why exactly, and also do not have WDS suppor

It all depends on the device you call a "tplink" and what abilties it has. Some of the tplink devices have a repeater mode called "universal", at least I think that is what tplink calls it. What is does is the repeater connects to the hotspot with a single mac address rather than using WDS. It then acts a router and runs NAT on the devices behind it. This method if you device supports it should connect to any hotspot since...

What is does is the repeater connects to the hotspot with a single mac address rather than using WDS. It then acts a router and runs NAT on the devices behind it. This method if you device supports it should connect to any hotspot since the router appears the same as any other pc/phone etc and the hotspot can not actually see what devices are behind your repeater.
