Bright flash coming from my computer

It all started about a month ago. I got a evga gtx 960 to run my oculus rift. For a week everything was running perfectly. Then one day I started up a game and during the middle of play my pc shut down. It booted up by itself again and said there was a power surge. I tried again and my pc started up normally and I played a different game and it happened again. So I did some research and it said it was my power supply. So I bought a Thermaltake Smart 500w psu and it worked for a day. I got on the next day and when I pressed the power button it booted for half a second then turned off. I put my old power supply in and turned it on and I saw a bright flash from the top right of the motherboard. Now my pc boots but I don’t have any signal. I plugged my hdmi into my mother boards hdmi slot and still has no signal. I put my new power supply back in and it boots but it now also has no signal. Please help me I’ve been so agrivated with my pc and I’m so confused please help me

A bright flash from the computer is never a good thing. It is certainly possible that the motherboard (and other components) was damaged in the process. Make sure that there is nothing shorting the motherboard to the case (like a loose screw).
