Hi everyone, I just wanted to share a personal peeve that's been bothering me. I've been PC Gaming for for a Very Long time. For many years manufacturers developed gaming mice with 2 DPI buttons so you could change DPI on the fly. It became the norm. Well somewhere along the line some manufacturer and/or youtube/website reviewers convinced gamers you don't need 2 or even 1 DPI button. I absolutely disagree.
I have forever cherished the option to toggle between DPIs on the fly when playing FPS multiplayer games. This option has being taken away from me for the majority of popular mice. I either have to work with one button cycling through the DPIs, or hit a button on the bottom of the mouse or use software to change a mouse button from its main function (losing that function) to the DPI function.
Some reviewers/gamers will say, you can get used to one DPI when switching from a machine gun to a sniper rifle. I've had to do this with my Logitech Super Light and my new PULSAR X2H mini. It is doable. Do I prefer it. Absolutely NOT.
With my new X2Hmini I have to hit a button on the bottom of my mouse to change the DPI when exiting Isonzo or a Battlefield game so it will move fast enough on my Dell 34" widescreen. 👎
High end gaming mice with more features including 2 DPI buttons used to cost $70 to $90. It wasn't that long ago. Over the past couple of years we now have high end gaming mice costing up to $200 with less features.....
I want to thank Razer for releasing the Cobra Pro. It has 2 two DPI buttons. The majority of the reviewers online hate it, stating it's to heavy and no one asked for it. I currently have the Cobra Pro, X2H mini, Logitech Superlight and xtrfy Mz1 wireless on my desk and the Cobra is fine and I easily adjust to it weight. Whether it will become my main. I don't know yet.
alright, I'm starting to go off the rails with this topic. I just wanted to blow off some steam. I'm getting off my soapbox. 😉
