I broke a ground pin and another pin off the usb 3.0 header on a motherboard, one of the usbs still works the other obviously doesnt. But since I broke a ground pin do you think something bad will happen? or does the ground pin breaking not mean any more than the others and all it does it make one of the usbs not function.

power goes to ground, circuit complete.

there is a drain ground. you do not mean that ground do you? this is to discharge the sheilding should it become charged. (the silver braid covering the wires in the USB cable)

this is not essential for it to work but it is a safety feature to prevent damage.

think of the pc like a battery device. positive and negative. power and ground.no ground pin, no power.

I believe that was what I broke off(I also broke off another pin which explains why its not working.) Is this bad? If it is to be charged will it hurt something/ let my discharged ESD leak into my PC. I recently had a PSU die, maybe this was the cause?
