[SOLVED] Broken GPU what to do?

Hello all, I have a system with ryzen 5 2600 and a RTX 2070. This system has worked smoothly for about 10 months until one day I opened RUST, and the screen flickered, flashed random colors, the the game completely shut down. I tried many other games, and the same thing happened on all of them. However, it works on home screen windows and all everyday programs. There are no problems reported on device manager or directx. I already redownloaded graphic drivers and it doesnt work. Anyone have help?

What's the rest of your specs including the make and model of the power supply?

I am quite sure that it is my GPU because I tried a friend’s RTX 2080 and there were no problems.
here is the list:
GIGABYTE AORUS B450 Pro WiFi
2 x 8GB G skill Flare X Ram
500GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD
PSU: Corsair CX 550 Watt 80+ Bronze Certified

That makes sense. The RTX 2080 pulls a little more power, but you didn't experience any issues with it.
RMA the card and get a replacement.
Or use the warranty.

It does sound like the GPU if the 2080 worked fine. That said, a 550 watt PSU is really too low for the RTX cards....

550w can be used for most of the RTX cards, but it depends on:
1)the cpu & gpu combination
2)the quality of the power supply [People keep wanting to cheap out here for some reason...]
3)whether OCs are included or not
You could run a 9700K OC(200w) + 2080 Super(250w) on a good 550w unit. A 2080Ti, on the other hand... likely not, because many 550w models simply don't have enough pcie connections to run a 2x or 3x 8-pin 2080Ti + the 8-pin cpu power on the mobo.

Ya...you technically can use a 550, but I don't think it's very advisable. It's pretty tight and you'd be maxing out the PSU without overclocking. I wouldn't attempt it unless it was a really top end PSU, and at that point may as well just up the power. CX650 would do better here...that's the absolute minimum I would use (just used one in my kids PC).

Seems like there is an epidemic of people having issues with crap power supplies lately lol. I guess it's a lesson that has to be learned. I had a couple go on me way back before I realized how vital it is.
