D505 would be a diode, not a capacitor. It's probably a $0.20 component, do you have the remains of the one that broke off? If so, can you look closely with a magnifying glass and see what markings are there on it?
Judging by the heavy traces surrounding it and it's proximity to the 6-pin power socket, it's likely part of the GPU/RAM VRM and therefore an important component. This would also explain why the board won't power up anymore.
