Broken mother board?

Hi everyone I’m now that noob who has gone way over there head. But anyway I recently built a pc that I copied the parts off of a YouTuber that made a video and now something has gone wrong. I did everything on the list from this website that says what happens to new builders and none of it worked. What happens is I turn on the PSU and only my 1060s light goes on but no fans turn on or anything else. If I take the VGA cord out then the light turns red instead of white and still no fans turn on. Lastly I have a post speaker and it makes no noise at all when I turn the PSU on. I’m assuming that my motherboard broke in someway but I’m not sure. Thanks for any answers :)

what do you mean turn on your psu? does your psu have a switch? i think you mean turn on your pc. if the post speaker doesn't even turn on then your mobo could be defective or you could've fucked your psu by switching it on and off.

So should I do the paper clip thing and if the fan in the Power supply turns on then my mother board is defective but if it doesn’t then I just need a new power supply?
