Broken pins

Hi, I broke two pins on the end of my Viewsonic 21" monitor's VGA cable. However, everything still seems to work ok. What are some symptoms that should be occuring because of this? Or is it just that the monitor doesn't need all the pins to work correctly? The only thing I've noticed is more tearing in games. Could this be a symptom?

Some of the grounding pins are redundant, some other pins are unused. If your monitor looks fine you probably don't have any need for concern.
