Broken ram holder

Greetings,I bought a motherboard from a guy.He said everything is fine with it but when I recived it I saw one ram holder is broken.If I put ram in it it gives me beep code that ram is missing.If I put it in the one winouth broken holder it boots up fine.Guy is offering me partial refund.Is RAM slot dead or it does not want to turn it on since that holder is missing?

I mean if you have to ask, it's not user-repairable guy, don't even think about it.

If you can live with one slot and the guy is offering you a big discount... up to you.

People buy slightly damaged goods all the time for a discount. The question is, is that OK with YOU? The ball is on you court man, we don't know what your situation is. One more time, CAN YOU LIVE WITH ONE SLOT?

If he's offering 50 percent back, I'd question why you're not getting a full refund for defective goods. If he clearly stated "everything is fine with it", he lied. Where did you purchase it anyway? EBay I hope, you may be in luck.
