So a few days ago i woke up to ridiculously long boot times and my Seagate Barracuda 3TB won't show up in windows or BIOS. I tried all different ports and combinations of hard drives but it won't spin up.

So it's dead now and i need a replacement, however with all these new hard drives im a little confused as to what to get. There doesn't seem to be a 'normal' hard drive anymore there's only these NAS and surveillance drives. Basically im looking for a fast hard drive that won't die a month after the warranty ends like the seagate with a good warranty :^)

this is the website i will be buying off http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=210_344&vk_sort=1

The WD Black is too expensive for me im looking for something under $200 ideally. I have a 1tb version right now and it's also very noisy. is this still a problem?!

also im thinking about making a raid 0 array if that influences anything

Yeah, WD Black has slightly higher acoustic levels due to its performance boost.
You want to make RAID 0 with the drive you are about to get and some other old one right? Keep in mind that it is advisable to have HDDs of the same model and capacity in a RAID setup. Also, some drives like WD Red are designed(different firmware) for operating in RAID and NAS environments.

Ok i also have a 500gb WD blue lying around so im thinking i will buy a 1tb WD blue and create 2 partitions on it then raid0 the 500gb with a 500gb partition. would this work? then i would just buy a wd green or wd red 3tb for storage

in the end i will have
120gb samsung 850 evo for OS
1tb WD black for Games
500gb wd blue & 500gb partition in raid0 for recording to
500gb leftover from WD blue for whatever
and a cheap 3tb for storage
