Broken usb ports - ip over ethernet to usb idea

Hello,
i have a nice laptop with broken usb ports
So i would use an external mouse and i need a solution.
I bought an ethernet to usb adapter
The i'm trying to make the mouse to work with the following drivers:
http://usbip.sourceforge.net/ but doesn't work
I have also considered other solutions but the laptop doesn't have the bluetooth altought it have a wireless interlan card. Any chance i can hook a wireless mouse to it?

a wifi mouse would me ok but don't they usually have a remote usb sensor?

No sensor, they are a WiFi device. You'll see it as a wireless device in your wireless networks.
