Broken Windows 10

A few days ago, my computer started freezing when I clicked anything. So I restarted it and it froze again. I kept doing this until it started scanning and repairing, I waited about 8 hours and it was stuck at 3% and I restarted my computer (which I believe is what caused my problem). After the reset, it stayed on the Windows 10 loading screen for a few minutes until it encountered an error and reset. Which then started an automatic repair and went to a black screen for about an hour (which I heard my computer would have to be repaired which I don't have money for) and then went to diagnosing your pc for another hour and then went to advanced setting. I tried system restore, launching in safe mode, and reinstalling Windows and none of that worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Solution

From your initial description, and that chkdsk screenshot...yes.

how big is the hard drive? if its several TB it can take a long time to fix disk errors

restarting wouldn't have helped. it might have been repairing bad sectors by moving the data to good ones.
search cortana for command prompt, in the search result which mentions control panel, right click result and run as admin
type chkdsk /f /r and press enter
2 paragraphs will pop up asking if you want to run it next startup.. Type Y and press enter

restart PC and let it run the scan, it might take as long as 8 hours or more, depending on disk size and speed of PC.

But I can't get to the desktop. After it diagnosis', it goes straight to advanced options. I went to command prompt through that,

I did that and this happened, http://imgur.com/gallery/KyVyk. Don't know if it's bad or good

I think i got you to check wrong partition (my bad) as it says its labelled as recovery and thats wrong partition. Sure explains why there are only 256 files on disk
try chkdsk C: /f /r

it may not make any difference but it beats me telling you its the drive when its not :)

otherwise, Signs are elbert was right, I think its the hard drive itself at this stage and best bet would be to get another one and try to rescue the information of the one you have now

that is the same error as before, almost exactly. Its even talking about recovery
Partition 1 - Recovery
Partition 2 - System - The EFI System partition that contains the NTLDR, HAL, Boot.txt, and other files that are needed to boot the system, such as drivers.
Partition 3 - MSR - The Microsoft Reserved (MSR) partition that reserves space on each disk drive for subsequent use by operating system software.
Partition 4 - Primary - Where Windows is to be installed to.
this is layout of a normal win 10 install

I am sorry, because the drive letters get messed up when you boot off the USB, its quite possible that the drive that is normally labelled C is labelled another letter

In command prompt again,
type diskpart
type list vol - this will show you all the partitions on the PC and you should be able to see which is C just from the sizes - it should be the biggest
type exit to get out of diskpart
once you know the drive letter of what is normally C, run chkdsk on that drive letter and see if you still get same result.

If you do, then its probably the drive but once again, I just want to make sure.

That looks like a dying drive.
