Can anyone comment on the performance of this printer. I've tried
googling for reviews, but all I ever get is "be the first to write a
review" and no real customer experience comments

Hi. Thanks for responding. Yes the model number correct. Maybe it's
just a UK model. I looked at the print carts and cost of refills here
http://www.eurojet-cartridges.co.uk/printer_manufacturer/Brother.htm

I guess they'd be on the small size and need changing frequently so may
choose a different model. My HP is starting to go on the blink, and I
seem to have lots of probs with all the hp* tasks that are run up
sometimes freezing, that I am considering a different manufacturer for
its replacement

Ahh, yes...took a look at Amazon UK and that printer is not available over
here in the states, nor does it appear to be similar to the 420c that I
thought you were referring too...at the least, I thought it might just be
renumbered, but I have not seen that one after a month of looking at various
Brother printers.

Sorry.
