The only symptom is a hard freeze of windows explorer if I open any browser whatsoever. There is no response to keyboard commands, no crash log. All that happens is a complete freeze the moment any browser is opened. The only solution is to hold the power button or hour reset button. I can still play games just fine or even browse steam, I'll try the steam browser in a moment.

Oh yeah I forgot:
Windows 10
I7-4770k
A stock Fatal1ty (or something like that)
16gb G.Skill something-something RAM
EVGA GTX 980ti hybrid
1x 128gb ssd for booting
1x 240gb ssd for favorite games
2x 1tb hdd for everything
1x case from the Paleolithic era (ca. 2008)
1.5 lbs of dust probably

You didn't say which browsers are having the problem. Have you tried Edge, IE, Chrome, Firefox, or other browsers? You could always open an administrator command prompt and issue these commands:
SFC /Scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth .
You could also try the troubleshooters.

Maybe something in the OS is corrupt. Try running a scan to find and fix the issue if a registry folder / setting is corrupt.

-Right click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner
-Select Windows Power Shell (Admin)
-Type sfc /scannow (space after sfc)

Works very well if their is any corruption in Windows. Try that first, that may solve the issue.
