[SOLVED] Browsers not using gpu while watching youtube at 4k

For some reason no browser will use my gpu to decode 4k yt videos. I tried it with both my intel hd 5500 and amd r5 m330. The browsers actually "use" it but it's always at 2% or so and the video lags really bad. Hardware acceleration enabled. Any help?

I have tried using h264ify extension but that just removes the 4k versions

What's the resolution of the display you're using?

Given the age of the components you've mentioned it's possible that your laptop doesn't have a 4K screen.
