Recently I was having problems with BSOD errors. I've researched the issue and have done the following:

  • Run memtest86+ for 12 hrs, everything OK
Run the Windows memory checker, everything OK
    Run CHKDSK, everything OK
Run WD Datalifeguard full scan, everything OK
Run SFC and repaired a few corrupt files
    Updated all outdated drivers
    Flashed to latest BIOS
Removed Windows coupon app and Yahoo! Detect key from registry on advice of Kaspersky support
Uninstalled and resinstalled Kaspersky Internet Security on advice of Kaspersky support (some of the earlier BSOD crashes were flagging a Kaspersky driver).
    Uninstalled Intel Rapid Storage Technology
Run driver verifier for 24 hours
The BSODs I was getting in normal operation seem to have gone away, but now I get one every time I shut down last thing before it reboots. Values after the error key are 0xFF...C0000005, 0xFFFFF80003576C9A, 0x00....0, 0x00...4E. The odd thing is that it says its writing the dump file but when I reboot there is no dump file. I have verified that the dump file is configured to write. This started happening after the driver and bios updates. I have verified that I have > 200 gb disk space, and an 8 gb page file, so that is not what's preventing the dump. Also I do not get the BSOD when I shut down from safe mode.

I am kind of out of ideas here. Anyone know how I can troubleshoot this?

Tks...Steve

Update...running driver verifier I have been getting 7E during normal operation too. Still no dump file. Parameters on the last one were 0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF800033C09CC,0xFFFFF88003D6F798, 0xFFFFF88003D6EFF0.

This looks suspiciously like a virus issue. Try booting into safe mode and try to reproduce the BSOD, and see what happens. If nothing happens, it's probably a virus issue. Run a scan on your system with as many *safe* malware scanners.

Hi,

One simple solution, worth a try, hope it helps u solve the issue.

Disconnect ur computer, remove all the connections, open the cabinet, remove the RAM, blow air and remove all the dust from the slots, also disconnect ur HD and blow air in the connection slot and remove the dust, also the same with ur GPU.

Now take a pencil eraser and rub it on the golden connecters of the RAM lightly, both the sides as well as below (one which goes inside the slot) clean with a dried soft cloth, put back the RAM and connect the HD and GPU

Remove the CPU fan and with a brush or a blower remove all the dust from the in between of the fan, place back the fan and connect ur pc again

Download the software named "Defraggler" (Free Version) by Piriform (u can download in safe mode with networking since there is no BSOD in safemode)

Install and defrag ur drives one by one. Dont use windows disk defragmenter.

Start ur pc in normal mode. This should solve the BSOD.

Also download CPUID HWMonitor and make note of the temperatures if CPU is overheating.

And if by chance ur motherboard is of Gigabyte, and u have EasyTune by gigabyte installed, UNINSTALL it, it has a lot of bloatware.

Tried the above, no luck. But something new. Was working on the machine and bang, shut off. No BSOD. Tried to restart, and before the bios beep it shuts off. Reproduces. Bad power supply, maybe? Could that explain the other errors?
