BSoD after auto windows update

Windows 7 installed an automatic update, but went to BSoD after. I've tried all the normal steps - startup repair does not work, system restore does not work. I do have access to the system in safe mode. What next - help!

If you can boot into safe mode it sounds like to me the Windows environment got corrupted during the update, try rolling back to before the update if you can otherwise you may need to reinstall Windows.
