[SOLVED] BSOD after hours gaming [ntoskrnl.exe+1c2390 / bug check 133]

Hi everyone!
I hope you guys can give me a direction here.

Issue: BSOD DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
Only happens in AC Odyssey after about 3h gaming.

System specs:
CPU i9-9900KF 4.7Ghz + Noctua NH-D15
MB Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Elite
Memory 24GB (3x8) Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400Mhz
GPU MSI Armor GTX1080 8Gb
Storage 1 (Windows): NVME PCIEX PNY CS3030 250GB 3500MBs
Storage 2 (Games): NVME PCIEX Adata SX6000 PRO 1TB 2100MBs
PSU Corsair CX650 650W (@220v)
OS Windows 10 Pro 64x 1909 (Build 18363.836)
Latest bios, latest drivers, kaspersky antivirus, all genuine

The system is completely stock, I locked vcore to 1.285v in BIOS and ratio to 47x all cores, no energy saving features, all C-states disabled.
It runs flawless in any game or benchmark since I built it (Jan 2019). Never had a single issue until... this.

Max temps while gaming: CPU 83C , VRM 68C, GPU 77C, NVMEs 45-50C. Never throttled or had FPS drops. It simply freezes for about 5sec (audio too) and BSOD randomly after a long gameplay (about 3hs). I did even open the case and touched the components like ram, chipset heatsink, cpu cooler etc to make sure and everything was cold.

I also dropped vcore to 1.13v to simulate a low votage BSOD and it only happened in cinebench R20 (was running the game fine) with code 0x101 clock_watchdog_timeout. So I guess it is not related to this.

Can we figure out what is causing the issue by the dump file?

Consider updating it if possible.

In addition, the BIOS only showed 3 of the RAM modules. This might be OK as I've seen errors in dumps before, but I would consider re-seating the RAM.

he only has 24gb of ram so 3 x 8gb makes sense

I can't say i seen the Samsung NVME drivers before. and drivers from 2014 unlikely to be for win 10
I can see some on Samsung website but difficult to know what dates are - looking at install guide, I can only see its from 2020

Gardenman thank you so much! I had a feeling it was related to either nvme or audio drivers.

Regarding the ram, my bad, I copy pasted my config and forgot that one module was removed. I was testing things and found out in Thaiphoon Burner that one of the modules was dual rank with a different chip (due buying them separately) so I removed it to avoid issues and forgot to update, I still in a quest trying to find one equal to match the other three but this is another story. Main post updated.

I am kind of lost with this samsung nvme driver? can it be from the motherboard drivers? the only samsung equipment I have is the monitor (F390).

One of nvmes (PNY) uses a Phison controller, and the ADATA uses Realtek. Heres the device manager screen and below each one drivers tab detail:

I am not sure if those are from Samsung. I know the file websites show it and a lot of results point at Samsung but maybe other companies use it as well

I had 4x8 32GB there and edited right between your/my previous reply.

So this is the nvme.sys I have in the system, and its from Realtek (Adata SX6000 PRO 1TB), I don't recall installing it because Adata don't have drivers on their website so must have been windows update... also looks to be for Windows 7...

Makes total sense because the game is installed in this driver.

I am not sure it should be there, its for WIn 7. Figuring out how to remove it is fun part.

Yeah this seems really weird. I never ran a 3rd party driver update but had an issue once where I did a system repair/restore so I am guessing it messed things up.

Another thing I find strange is those two drivers in the device manager with different versions from each other:
Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller

Maybe its supposed to be like that idk... regarding Adata they didn't have any support on their website when I built the pc but now its updated with even a new firmware. Unfortunately I have to erase the drive to perform it... but thanks to you guys I am less worried now as it doesn't seem to be a main hardware fault.

I will try to remove this driver for now but will soon perform the firmware update and also image the computer w a fresh windows install, sure it will fix this issue.

18362 = Win 10 version 1903. Those are default win 10 drivers, I expect they are okay.
I don't have an nvme in PC so I only have the top one.

Thanks Colif, I was thinking those 3 last digits (449 vs 693) were supposed to be equal but seems to represent them instead.

BTW I was able to simply uninstall device (Realtek NVMe Controller) inside device manager. It had a check box saying "delete driver from system" something in those words, so I checked that and Realtek driver is gone. Then just scanned for hardware changes and it came up correct using standard windows driver:

Also did a system update check and it didn't update so I am guessing this may fix the issue if someone face something similar.
