I had two 4GB DDR3 RAM cards in my systems and recently added in 2 more.
Now I noticed that my old RAM is around 1300mhz and my new cards are at 1600mhz. Is this causing me to BSOD?
There's no obvious trigger and it happens randomly
The error code is "PFN LIST CORRUPT"

Solution

thats probably your best bet

as not only are you mixing ram vendors you are using different speeds and probably different timings

not a great surprise it doesnt like it

I always suggest using matched RAM. I try utilizing a single "kit" whenever possible - as they are matched at the factory. When that is impossible, I try to get the same RAM make/model - but even then, sometimes there are differences that result in problems....especially the dreaded BSOD.

AMD FX 6300 CPU
MSI 970 Gaming MOBO
The old RAM was two Hynix 4gb 1300mhz (came stock with my old computer)
The new RAM is G Skill Ripjaw Series 1600mhz

Should I just sell off my older RAM for cheap, and try to buy another 2 X 4GB kit matching the one I just bought.

I'd rather just play it safe lol. It's already BSOD on me 4 times and I'm afraid the voltage on my RAM is just shorting out or something cause of the higher end RAM Cards

If going to sell off the old, the get a single set of full amount of DRAM you want/need, simply grabbing another set that matches one of what you already have is no guarantee that it will play with the other set either. The only way for a guarantee is to buy a single full set, that way all the sticks have been tested to play nice together. You often see folks here that buy two sets of 2 sticks rather than a 4 stick pack to save a few bucks, and are right here wanting to know why the two identical sets won't play 😉
