Hey,

a few days ago I attempted to overclock my CPU following these guidlines http://www.overclock.net/t/1198504/complete-overclocking-guide-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-asrock-edition

My specs are below:

i5 3570K @ 3.40ghz (overclocked to 4.4)
Noctua NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with 140mm
xfx 650w PSU
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard
2x 4gb Corsair Vengence black RAM
1TB WD Caviar black
Corsair 400R Case
Windows 7

Used the BIOS to overclock but just used utility tools to show settings below:

The problem I am having is after overclocking my PC keeps freezing/crashing so I have to manually reboot, when it does BSOD the code is 0x50 and it says page fault in nonpaged area

I changed the DRMA voltage to 1.550 as I read this would help but the PC keeps freezinf and I cannot do anything such as task manager etc no matter how long I wait, It will usually happen when I am watching videos.

Any help appreciated.

You're processor obviously can't handle 4.4, so as the previous poster has suggested lower your overclock. The guide you linked to even tells you not all processors can overclock to the same level......

Try to increase the voltage and see, it should overclock but also watch your load temp if its hitting more than 70 decraese the clock speed and the voltage.

Dont touch the ram voltage leave it at Auto

I was taking this up in steps, it was to my understanding I would up it by .1 (3.4 to 3.5, to 3.6, to 3.7 etc testing it with prime95 each time)

I have lowered it to 4.3 at the moment but I am getting confused, did I do something wrong? and is my CPU voltage offset 0.005 ok?

offset of 0.005v isnt going to do much of anything

overclocking past a certain point takes more time and effort its not only the cpu voltage and multiplier you need to tweak to get the best overclock you can

So, am I to understand that an overclock of 4.3 works?
