Hi I recently upgraded my Alienware Aurora with a new SSD drive, Ram and Graphics card, then I started getting the BSOD it's definitely a hardware issue 0x00000124 hal.dll / ntoskml.exe show up, I've run a diagnostic on the SSD all seems fine and ran a Memory test on the ram and that all came back positive.
I haven't been able to test the graphics card yet which is a geforce gtx760.
System details are - X58 motherboard with Intel i7 930 2.8ghtz quad chip, 12 Gb 1600mhz ram and kingston 480 Gb SSD V300 series I think, running Windows 7 SP1 x64, nothing is overclocked, details of dump file are below...
Bug Check code 0x00000124
Parameter 1 00000000`00000000
Parameter 2 fffffa80`0d706028
Parameter 3 00000000`fa000000
Parameter 4 00000000`00400405
Caused by address: hal.dll+12a3b
Crash Address: ntoskrnl.exe+748c0
EDIT: Not the graphics card so went back to the old rule of replace and checked, so one by one replaced the upgrade with the old parts, as it turns out even after passing a memory test it's my ram causing the instability, my old rams timings were 9-9-9-28 the new ram they sent is 9-9-9-24
I didn't think a subtle change in timing would cause instability, but not knowledgeable enough to know the facts, so could be possible faulty ram, I know you can change timings in bios I did try machine wasn't happy and just changed it back, so any ideas or shall I just send the ram back to retailer?
Any help would be gratefully received.
